講者介紹 Background of Speaker :
曹樹?先生 : 美籍華裔製琴家，於九十年代六年五奪美國提琴協會製琴比賽獎項，當中包括兩個金獎。其作品收錄於 Jost Thone 編著的 Contemporary Violion Markers ，並為各位收藏家廣泛收藏。
One of the best known contemporary violin markers in the world. Five times out of six, Scott Cao was awarded the “tone” award by the Violin Society of America's international competition committee.

試論當代世界製琴的流派
Different sects of modern string instrument making

幾百年來，世界不同地方都有出色的製琴家，而且每個地方都流傳著不同的藝術風格。這次講座主題將會介紹傳統的歐洲流派、新的意大利格利蒙那流派、以復古為主的美國流派、以中國為主的東方流派以及東歐流派等。
There are numerous outstanding luithers with different style. We are trying to introduce those between the European, “Neo-Cremonese”, American Eastern European and Asian sects.

提琴調整及保養

好的提琴聲音不但是做出來而且更重要是調出來，但調好了的提琴亦會因天氣及環境改變而有所影響。提琴本身亦有很多重要部件需要經常保養及維修，提琴保養對一般人來說是一大難題。本工作坊將邀請參與者攜來自己的提琴 * ，以互動形式深入淺出講解以上課題。
* 請於報名時簡單說明提琴狀況，我們將選出最有代表性的 3 個提琴作為示範。
The tone of stringed instruments is not only determined by the craftsmanship but also the setup, and the tone will keep changing due to the environment. Moreover, it is not easy for us to keep an eye on many crucial parts in order to obtain the best sound. In this interactive workshop, we will invite participants to bring along with their instruments* to demonstrate the above issue.
* Please briefly explain the condition of your violin in your application form, 3 instruments will be chosen by us with the most features for demonstration.
